Pastor Jonathan Markham

Pastor Jonathan was born and raised in the UK, and came to the US in 1993 with his wife Sarah (who passed away in 1999 from cancer) and his sons Robert and John, at the invitation of Jews for Jesus. He served on their staff for nine years before accepting a call to pastor Grace Bible Fellowship in Pacifica in September 2002.
In 2006 Jonathan graduated from Golden Gate seminary (now Gateway Seminary) with a Masters in Divinity and was invited to add the interim pastorate of Vista del Mar Baptist church to his responsibilities. At the request of the two church families he the oversaw the process which brought the two churches together to become New Life Christian Fellowship.
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities he is an active participant in The Pacifica Prevention Partnership, a community group committed to changing patterns of substance abuse amongst teenagers. He hosted “Awakenings”, a show on Pacifica Community Television and is the “reader in residence” at one of our local schools.
In 2006, Jonathan married Maggie, a teacher from San Diego, now working in Foster City. Much to her surprise, she is a born pastors wife! Their family now includes Maggie’s daughters, Katie and her partner Courtney, and their son Atticus along with Maggie’s younger daughter Emily and her husband Jonathan, and their daughter Gracie.
Passions:
- Seeing people changed by a real relationship with Jesus.
- Being the best husband, father and grandfather I can be.

Djenane Santos
Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Djenane Santos is a Brazilian lawyer from Goiania, Goias. She has been on and off in the Bay Area for the last 21 years. In 2015, she came to Pacifica with her family, John and Bianca, to do her Masters in Law.
Djenane has always been a very active Christian since the age of 11 when she accepted Christ at Igreja de Cristo Norte de Goiânia (ICNG), which was founded by American missionaries. Her new life in Christ also brought her unique opportunities to achieve her dream of becoming fluent in English and soon she found herself interpreting at church. Before returning to California, Djenane and her family joined Pr. Rafael Corrêa Batista, his wife and two daughters in opening a Presbyterian church in her neighborhood. The Children’s Ministry began with three kids, their very own. A couple of years later, she was coordinating a ministry that had enough kids to fill two classrooms.
Djenane has more experience in teaching Sunday School and ESL than in legal work itself. As she puts it, she continues to work with the law: The heavenly one. Her true calling has gotten the best of her. She loves working at New Life and looks forward to what lies ahead.
